Never Give Up!

Never Give Up!

Joyce Meyer never ceases to amaze me. I finished reading her book Never Give Up. Of course, I’ve been passing it around to friends so I haven’t had the chance to write a book review until now.

Joyce’s style in writing is clearly understandable with metaphors that liken Christians to birds. She describes chicken Christians and eagle Christians. The metaphor compares us to these types of birds in our Christ-walk, our love lives and in our every endeavor. She uses beautiful and romantic imagery. At some parts when she describes an eagle courtship routine I got a little teary.

When I picked up this book I was pretty close to sinking. My heart had suffered several serious disappointments consecutively and I was considering life not worth living. Joyce, with her beloved sense of compassion, scraped me off the floor with her book — "Never Give Up." Reading this book was in every sense of the word, a delight. I looked forward to every new chapter which would encourage me further to draw closer to the Lord.

What Joyce excels at is making her reader feel accepted. She never exalts herself above the audience. When you read about her trials and tribulations in her way of witty delivery you not only gain tools to equip you to walk with Christ you gain a friend and sister in Christ knowing that there is one person out there that understands what it means to be downtrodden and to suffer.

God has truly blessed Joyce with an awesome ministry. I pray that she will continue to receive the support she needs to keep pressing forth with her writings, television show and reach-out ministries.

Thank you, Joyce, for being so positive and for being the hope I needed at just the right time.
